**New Pilot Alert!**

Help us give a warm welcome to Gary Moore who will be flying for the first time among our beautiful vermilion cliffs!

“I have flown 4 different corporate balloons, Tony the Tiger, Select 55 (Anheuser Busch 165 foot tall beer bottle), Remax, and GMC. 14 different special shaped balloons, owning 2 of them Woodrow C. Greenleaf( rain forest tree) and currently Owlbert Eyenstein(Owl). This has allowed my wife Diana and I to travel to 30 different countries, flying balloons in 23 and all 50 US States, ballooning in 40. We currently live in Lake Havasu City where we operate a balloon ride business in the winter months.

Really looking forward to flying in Kanab for the first time.”

Welcome back Dave Melton!

We’re happy to have you, Shelly, and “Purple Haze” back for another year!

“Like many pilots, Dave’s love of ballooning started after attending Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. He and his wife, Shelly, bought their first balloon in 1989 and Dave earned his private pilot’s certificate a couple months later and his commercial rating in 1991. Dave spent many years competing at national and international events around the country and then went on to receive his gas rating and flew in gas balloon (helium, hydrogen, and ammonia) events including the Gordon Bennett race in Germany in 1996. Dave now flies “just for fun” and loves introducing new people to ballooning and giving rides to first timers and his crew members. Dave’s faithful and super talented crew consists of family and friends from NM, AZ, WY, UT, TX, and he couldn’t and wouldn’t be ballooning without them. Dave and Shelly retired from jobs in New Mexico and have recently relocated to Southern Utah (New Harmony) and are super excited to be flying in Kanab!”
